Optical Clarity & Germanium Lenses

The lens is a critical component in thermal imaging. While some manufacturers utilize alternative materials like Chalcogenide to reduce production costs, TDX Optics uses premium Germanium glass for all our objective lenses.

Why Germanium?

Germanium offers superior infrared transmission compared to other glass types. This ensures that the maximum amount of thermal data reaches our 384px and 640px sensors. The result is a cleaner, sharper image with better contrast, allowing users to identify targets with greater confidence in total darkness.
